In a brightly lit, overused conference room five women meet weekly for their domestic violence support group with their novice facilitator, KC, who really wants to help. With her empty resume and dearth of personal experience, it’s only a matter of time before someone in the group asks “is this really all we deserve?” and flips the healing journey on its head...

Workshopped at Ojai Playwrights Conference and Playwrights Realm, Support follows the eight week journey of a group of survivors who begin to ask what surviving- healing, moving forward, building new relationships-really looks like in a society without decent scaffolding for their support? When a male actor is brought in, some start to question what, why and how they make the future different and if there really is a way to make ripples beyond the unseemly conference room walls...

MEET OUR CAST

Claudia Nell McCoy

Claudia Nell McCoy is an actress, writer, producer, and proud CODA (Child of Deaf Adults). Having performed regionally and internationally, Claudia received her first AUDELCO “VIV” Award in 2017 for her portrayal as Maneda in the Negro Ensemble Company’s production of Daughters of the Mock. Her recent television credits include "FBI", "Let The Right One In", and "Dear Edward". She also recurs on the new CBS cop drama "East New York". You can hear some of Claudia's work in Marvel's scripted audio series "Marvels" starring Method Man & Ethan Peck. IG: @claudianellmccoy

Nancy Ma

Nancy Ma is an actor and filmmaker from Chinatown New York. She recently directed her first documentary short, 有一天，你不在 (one day you are not here). Theatre: Memorial (Pan Asian Repertory); Three Little Girls Down a Well (UTR/The Public); Home (Latino Theater Company); The Joy Luck Club (Sierra Madre Playhouse). TV: “Bull,” “Hacks,” “Barry.” BA: Williams. Even though you can’t read this, thank you Mama, Baba for everything! So grateful to be part of this production. @iamnancyma

Erin Anderson*

Erin Anderson’s Off-Broadway credits include THE CLIMB at Cherry Lane, playing Hecate in SLEEP NO MORE at the McKittrick Hotel, & the world premiere of BEST LIFE at JACK in Brooklyn. She has appeared regionally in plays at the Mark Taper Forum, South Coast Repertory, New York Stage & Film, the Williamstown Theatre Festival, & San Francisco Playhouse among others. Other work includes kimber lee's "untitled f*ck m*ss s**gon play" at the O'Neill Playwrights Conference directed by Robert O'Hara, and the West Coast premiere of We Are Proud to Present…” (Matrix Theatre, L.A.) Erin co-starred in and co-produced the film THE LIVING WORST which premiered at the 2019 DTLA Film Festival in L.A. where it received the award for Best Ensemble Cast. TV credits include Guest Stars on LAW & ORDER: SVU, AND JUST LIKE THAT, BLUE BLOODS and the upcoming THE WALKING DEAD: SUMMIT. She is also a Voiceover actor, and can be heard in many commercials and video games, as a punk rock-loving Irish ‘mermom’ on Nickelodeon’s MONSTER HIGH, and as the voice of Isadora Duncan in the upcoming documentary film, OBSESSED WITH LIGHT.

Mckensi Scy*

Mckensi Scy (she/they) is an actress from Trinidad and Tobago. She obtained her BFA in Acting from Brooklyn College during the pandemic and is currently a student at Lesley University in Cambridge MA, pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing with concentrations in Playwriting and Screenwriting. After spending the past year acting virtually, traveling, writing and filming, Mckensi is excited to be a part of live theater again, especially bringing a character with Trinidadian heritage to life in this production. Many thanks goes out to the people who continuously support Mckensi in her ambitious artistic endeavors.

Sharon Hope*

I feel honored to perform in a project communicating a subject matter still not addressed enough in this society. I hope my role as Dorothy lends a voice toward continuing conversation about signs of abuse to be aware of in relationships. As an actor I have experience in theater, tv and film.

Dan Lin

Dan Lin could not be happier to be in the room with such kind and thoughtful people. His theatre work includes Peter and the Starcatcher (Oregon Shakes), Wolf Play (Gift Theatre), United Flight 232 (The House Theatre of Chicago), The White Snake (The Old Globe); Film/TV: Chicago Med, Utopia, Chicago PD, The Brave, Skyscraper. Produced and starred in the independent feature Flora, which received Best Picture 2017 at its debut at SCIFI LONDON. His training includes a BFA in Acting from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, and two years at Interlochen Arts Academy. Gratitude to my family.

Elizabeth Irwin

Elizabeth Irwin was born in Worcester, raised by Brooklyn and finished by el D.F. (aka Mexico City). She was a member of the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, Playwrights Realm Writing Fellow, the Public Theater’s Emerging Writers Group and Playwrights Realm’s Page One Resident Playwright. Her play My Mañana Comes (Lucille Lortel Outstanding Play nominee, Drama Desk Outstanding Play Nominee, Outer Critics Circle John Gassner Award Nominee), received its critically acclaimed off Broadway debut at the Peter Jay Sharp theater. Her site specific plays terrace play (2021) and coffee shop play (2022) completed sold out runs in Flatbush, Brooklyn.

Kate Bergstrom

Erin Daley

Erin Daley (she/her) is a creative producer working in new play development. She is the Interim Artistic Director at Primary Stages, where she has been since 2016. Select credits at Primary include: peerless - Jiehae Park, On That Day in Amsterdam - Clarence Coo, The Confession of Lily Dare - Charles Busch, Downstairs - Theresa Rebeck, God Said This - Leah Nanako Winkler, Pride & Prejudice and Little Women - Kate Hamill. She's also worked at The Flea on Smoke by Kim Davies, The Place We Built - Sarah Gancher and The Mysteries among others. She cut her teeth at La Banda Films and is a graduate of Skidmore College.

Emry Rockenfield

Emry Rockenfield (they/she) is a stage and event manager enamored with new play development and immersive theatre. Their work includes readings of Karen Hartman’s “A New Golden Age” (Primary Stages; CNPF), Branden Jacobs Jenkins’ “Purpose” (Steppenwolf; CNPF), and runs of “The Last Defender” (The House Theatre; DCPA Off Center), and “Mixed Taste” (DCPA Off Center; MCA). They would like to thank Erin, Elizabeth, and Kate for trusting them to support this wonderful show. Emry is a proud member of the Emerson Mafia.

Oriana Lada (She/Her/Hers) is an equity actor, singer and director based in NYC. Directing credits: Grounded, The Metal Children.
