We are thrilled to announce the launch of our first project of 2021, The Home Project! In an effort to build relationships with our community, expand cultural opportunities and spark new conversations, OTVReads Santa Barbara focused on their home, and OTV’s first home: Santa Barabra. Six local artists created new pieces in response to the call, “What is the sound of the city in your chest?” culminating in an imaginative event of spoken word, music, dance and multimedia expression at the Marjorie Luke Theatre.
In co-production with The Marjorie Luke Virtual Concert Series, we are proud to present The Home Project streaming for free starting February 14th at LukeTheatre.org.
Check out the Home Project Community Panel where Santa Barbara community members SOUJOURNER KINCAID ROLLE and LEO CABRANES-GRANT talk about the subject of home, what it means to them and how it connects with the events happening now.
We are super proud of this one, folks and it is just the beginning! The Home Project started with these works in progress, and we want to hear from you about where to take it next.
Special thanks to Rod Lathim, Mark Robley Johnson, Karen Baltzley, and David Bazemore!
